The purpose for writing this program was to have a reliable group signature tool that solves the problem of some loopholes found in other tools that are currently being used.  I also wanted a tool that could run on any platform and provide GUI or Command Line operation.

The group signature is generated by using 1 file at a time using the bytes that make up the file and the file's relative path.  The end result is a secure group signature without loopholes.

What loopholes?  With some tools, just the bytes of each file are used for a group signature, meaning renaming files or moving files to different folders will sometimes not result in a different signature.

Features:

  • Secure Group Signature
  • Individual file signature support.
  • Drag and Drop Support
  • Unique "Enable Editing" checkbox to prevent accidental typing in the signatures.
  • Enabling Editing allows you to cut out unnecessary signatures or reformat your report.
  • SHA-1, SHA-256, SHA-512, MD5, and CRC32 support
  • Save output to a text file
  • Very user friendly interface which is the result of extensive testing and feedback
  • Portable Application runs on Windows, Mac, and Linux.  Full testing was done on each of these operating systems

Limits:

  • Group signature can only be done to one directory.  This was requested by users to have an easy way to compare directories by using a group signature.  However, this means you cannot do a group signature on random files that are scattered (sorry).
